CITGO owns and operates three refineries located in Lake Charles, LA; Lemont, IL; and Corpus Christi, TX, and wholly and/or jointly owns 37 active terminals, six pipelines and three lubricants blending and packaging plants. The Financial Analyst at CITGO Petroleum Corporation's Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex is responsible for providing support to the Financial Services department through general accounting tasks and performing routine and special projects according to established procedures and practices.

Additional Responsibilities include:

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation/processing of SAP Accounting entries and reversal of SAP Accruals to complete monthly, quarterly, year-end closing processes
• Provide precise documentation and verify descriptions/comments are detailed to support SOX controls
• Actively participate in budgeting process by creating files, compiling data from refinery personnel, calculating labor, turnaround amortization and catalyst amortization
• Assist in preparation of final budget presentation
• Monitor, track, and analyze monthly refinery operating expenses entered into SAP for correctness
• Assist in the preparation of Actual vs Budget, Actual vs Plan, Actual vs Mid-Month Estimate, and Actual vs Prior Month Actuals for Refinery Operating Expense variance explanations to management on a monthly basis
• Assist other departments with financial needs by assisting in interpretation of expense reports. Serve as a liaison between Financial Services and Area Field Analyst to provide refinery management with budget tracking data to make informed decisions about spending.
• Assist in preparation of Monthly Refinery Operating Expense Forecast and Mid-Year MTP process
• Research and respond to requests from external auditors, internal control, and management
• Process invoices for line handling, spent catalyst, scrap metals, steam, and fuel gas
• Maintain files with supporting documentation for journal vouchers, line handling and other invoices
• Perform quarterly Warehouse inventory count to track and resolve potential inventory issues

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (preferred), plus 5 years of financial accounting experience
• Experience with budgets and budget processes, preferred
• Proficient knowledge of SAP
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills between multiple levels within the organization
• Valid Driver's License

Hourly employees must be qualified as a temporary supervisor according to the Supervisor Development Process (OSDP, MSDP, or LSDP) and meet minimum qualifications listed above.

Eligibility Requirements:

The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration. Candidates selected for employment must meet eligibility criteria to obtain a TWIC card.
